West Ham boss David Moyes has indicated the Hammers are in good shape ahead of the match against Manchester City.
He is hopeful that he will have a fully fit squad despite one or two players coming back with minor knocks.
We know that one of them was Vladi Coufal but he has been declared ready to play anyway by Claret and Hugh’s own insiders and it looks very much as though Edson Alvarez will be included in the side despite him not returning until yesterday afternoon.
The manager noted that a flight delay slightly postponed his return to the West Ham camp, but feels the squad is in good shape ahead of a tough test against Pep Guardiola’s City.
He was asked further about the former Ajax defensive midfielder and gave a glowing endorsement of the Mexican international’s time in Claret and Blue so far.
Speaking at the pre- match presser the manager said “We really enjoyed the international break because of the season we’ve had so far.
We’ve been able to enjoy this one and the players have worked hard during this period as well. We’re hoping that all the boys that have returned are fit and well.
“Some of them have picked up little bits of knocks and I think the travelling doesn’t help. Edson Álvarez had a delayed flight and didn’t get back until yesterday [Thursday] at about three o’clock, but it’s part and parcel of the international breaks.
“We’re hoping that we’ll have everybody fit and available.”
Asked further about Álvarez, the manager he declared: “He’s had a great start in the Premier League.
As an overseas player it’s never easy to hit the ground running in the Premier League. I think he’s got off to a great start for us and he’s made a great impression with everybody.
