Moyes wasn’t looking for the big welcome back

|

New boss  David Moyes was not the least bit bothered at nt receiving   a mention over the loudspeakers ahead of yesterday’s game.

Some believe he should have received an official welcome back to the club with one or two even suggesting he was even owed a grovelling public apology for being allowed to leave.

But Moyes appears to be a bigger man than that – even after a couple of years out of work – and was looking for no special treatment from anybody.

He’s a focused individual who simply gets on with the job and doesn’t seem overly concerned about the politics of West Ham United which at times can be – shall we say – complicated.

There was also the other side of the coin to be considered with many not wanting him back and such a decision could easily have led to an adverse reaction.

Moyes responded to the question reporters asked him about not receiving such a welcome by saying: “I wasn’t looking for it, I am quite happy to slip in the back door and get on with the job. Be good at what I do”

Moyes couldn’t have given a better response to this question, he just needs to keep his head on the game and make sure we’re seeing solid results.

Well said Sir!

Sadly we have all brought into the Big money, Big Name & Glitz, which is the Premiership, a few Top clubs and a few high stakes gambling clubs and their chairmen. This is what most supporters demand, but only a few can truly offer.
I predict that it will go wrong for a few of the clubs involved in this race including the likes of the Spuds and Everton.
We didn’t see it earlier but we have practically stumbled upon the right type of manager for this club.
I will be happy to see Young, Hungry, British players, giving their all for this club, whilst being happy to be playing football at this club.
Moyes is a manager not bothered by fanfare and pomp, but he has the same desire, as the supporters to win and achieve things. I have now also dropped the pipe dream nonsense and will back him all the way!

Tells one something about the man, doesn’t it? No fan-fare … not about him. Yet, for what he previously achieved at West Ham … this alone deserves him the right to a decent welcome. May the West Ham fan base at least afford him good receptions at matches to make up. And may Manager Moyes feels his welcome here. May this be a great turnaround for West Ham and Mr Moyes in his career. Coyi. God bless West Ham.

I was very happy to have him back as mentioned b4.I want to see more British managers and it looks like the trend is bucking at last with less foreign managers.Same with younger players from the academy and championship given a chance. As for the age thing.Moyes is only 56 and that’s nothing in this day and age .No substitute for experience..Young foreign managers Poch,Emery,Silva,Flores already sacked.New era seems to be developing at last.
