New boy can be a major hit

|

AlvaroDavid Gold has compared the arrival of Alvaro Arbeola’s London Stadium arrival to that of Stephen Carr’s when he was in charge at Birmingham City seven years ago.

Arbeola’s sigature brought Slaven Bilic’s new players to a round dozen and Gold believes the  33-year-old will have a positive impact on the  squad, just as Carr did when he moved to St. Andrew’s on an initial short-term deal before going on to captain the side.

The co charman told the official website: “I can remember when we were in charge of Birmingham doing a similar kind of deal when we signed Stephen Carr.

“Stephen turned out to be a fantastic signing and was my player of the season.”
