New Cullen deal may be on cards

|

Josh Cullen’s future could still be at West Ham next season as he continues to impress at Charlton on loan.

The 23 year old midfielder – having made 11 appearances at Championship club Charlton on loan this term – is being closely monitored by the Hammers as he goes into the last few months of his current contract.

That is understood to be worth around £5k a week and with Carlos Sanchez looking certain leave at the end of his it looks  possible that the Hammers will offer him a new deal.

The 23 year old played a major part in the Addicks rise to the Championship while on loan at the Valley last season and there are likely to be a number of clubs after him on a free.

But A Hammers source told ClaretandHugh by e mail: “Obviously he has a chance of landing a new deal – decisions will be made nearer the end of the season.”

The cash-strapped south Londoners failed to cover the player’s wages entirely last season but were so keen for him to rejoin them for a tilt at the Premier League this season that were ready to cover them this time around.
