New Irons media tune as Arnautovic exits

|

Credit where it’s due.

These few words are aimed at the West Ham media team who appear to be catching up with fan thinking at last.

There have been many times for too long in the past when we have received the bland, baffling, blindingly obvious and party line toeing stuff.

There have also been some pretty meaningless interviews published with players, apologies after rubbish performances and some trumpet blowing on any number of issues from the stadium to a 2-2 draw with Brighton for example.

But look closely and you will detect a new attitude emerging and it deserves a mention before moving on to the real business of the day.

I am first recalling the Liverpool victory over the Spuds in that Champions League Final when the media team amusingly tweeted their heartiest congratulations to Klopp’s outfit on their fine victory which brought big smiles and congratulations from many Hammers fans.

Then yesterday -as a cloud finally lifted over the club with the Austrian disappearing – a mere 44 words reporting his departure appeared on the official site in which neither a thank you or an “all the best” appeared.

Some may believe there should have been, but the majority of us across the forums would feel that his behaviour was so shockingly out of order for so long he deserved nothing less than a very terse goodbye!

Personally I think it’s encouraging to see some in the department getting more in tune with fan thinking rather than preaching from on high.

Well done guys!
