West Ham have no further contract options on Adrian when his two year contract expires in the Summer of 2019. Adrian has long been linked with a return to his homeland and those rumours are likely to resurface soon in the January transfer window with the Spaniard’s current contribution limited to cup games while Łukasz Fabiański remains in fine form to retain the number one goalkeepers jersey.
The 31-year-old may look for a new club but West Ham insiders say they would be surprised if anyone will offer him more than they have offered him. However, if any club came in they would not stand in his way and would go out and buy an alternative back up keeper to challenge Fabiański in between the sticks.
It is most likely Adrian that will see out his contract until the summer and leave as a free agent allowing him to pick up a signing on bonus from a new club.
