Noble sees a possible winning way at City

|

The Irons go into tomorrow night’s clash with Manchester City as predictable underdogs – in some places with Pep Guardiola’s men as short as 1/8 for the win.

The Hammers are defending a run of three games without defeat and will be hoping that City’s Carabao Cup excursion against Chelsea on Sunday will help their cause at the Etihad.

Manuel Pellegrii will be picking his team today and it remains to be seen whether he puts out his strongest team for the clash or waits for the weekend game against Newcastle.

Either way the team is looking for a way to win and Mark Noble rightly points to the possible importance of set pieces after two of the goals against Fulham came from Robert Snodgrass corners.

The Scot himself has spoken on the training ground routines which are starting to pay off and the captain appears to believe this may be a way forward against the title chasers.

Speaking to www.whufc.com Nobes said: “We know Snoddy has got a fantastic delivery and, in all honesty, we haven’t scored as many [set piece goals] as we should because we haven’t attacked the ball well enough.

“On Friday Issa has got his first Premier League goal. I thought he attacked the ball great and Mikey [Antonio] could have scored just after that.

“It looked like the set plays were causing them a lot of problems. We had five or six corners in the first half alone and we got two great goals.

“Then Marko and Manu came on in the second half to change the game for us and get us another goal.”
