Noble set to join the legends

|

NobesMark Noble is heading for the status reserved for the true Upton Park legends.

He took two more big steps towards that of course when landing Hammer of the Year Award before his own team-mates named him Players’ Player of the Year.

Academy product Noble was brilliant throughout the season and desperately unlucky to miss out on a World Cup place but was thrilled to bits his colleagues made him their top performer.

He told www.whufc.com “It’s an amazing feeling to win the Players’ Player of the Year Award but it’s special to get the award from your own team-mates too.

“It was a bit emotional listening to the messages from the players, because you don’t get gestures like that from each other in training!

“To get that from your team-mates, talking like that about you, is overwhelming.”

Noble started all 38 league games in 2013/14 and the No16 says that, following the team’s climb away from danger, it was a year he’ll look back on as a successful one.

He added: “I was proud to start in every single Premier League game this season, I got close last year before I got a shoulder injury, but I did it this year and I was chuffed with the awards.

In total Mark has now made 275 appearances in the claret and blue for 34 goals.
