Now attack Moyes – this is what we have cried out for

THE Irons thumping of Freiburg last night was a scintillating start to finish demonstration of what most fans have all been crying out for Moyes to do, attack WRITES CANDH FB FOLLOWER BRIAN GAY!

Now attack Moyes – this is what we have cried out for

We have some sublime players at the club right now and on the front foot our attackers can damage any defence.

I for one want to see these players skills before they get poached away to ‘bigger’ clubs.

The much criticised manager finally picked an attacking eleven with the instructions to go and deliver an emphatic win.

Our talented attackers relished the mission and delivered with a swagger and were clearly enjoying the opportunity to show off their strengths.

This was typified in Lucas Paqueta’s frustration at being subbed on the hour – he was clearly loving the attacking tactics.

We have never had such a collective of attacking talent at our disposal at one time so having to watch them play with straight jackets on for much of the season has been a pain, some of these players may not be here next season and most of us want to see them play to their strengths just like last night.

I accept having the players fit and available is important but the simple switch of dropping JWP to rejig the attack with a revitalised Mikey Antonio leading the line brought the absolute best out of Mo Kudus, Jarrod Bowen and of course Paqueta himself.

Those four employed in their best positions delivered and with the signs that Danny Ings is also up for the challenge Moyes is in the best position to let us attack our way to the end of the season!

In doing so we may not win the Europa League, we may not improve our league position but we will have a darned better chance than starting  games at a snail’s pace and sitting back.

In adopting last nights tactics between now until the end if the season I’m sure as fans we will enjoy the ride much more, the players clearly will so there’s only one thing now and that’s over to you David Moyes … please let them play the attacking way!
