Now Manchester City join chase for Declan Rice

|

Manchester City have joined the growing list of clubs who have targeted Declan Rice as a major summer signing.

Declan – yellow carded

A key Manchester City source – close to  Claret and Hugh northern correspondent Terry Robbins – has told us that the Hammers captain is definitely on a short list in Pep Guardiola’s office.

The Sky Blues are keen to sign Jude Bellingham ahead of him but according to Spanish media the Borussia Dortmund and England star looks far more likely to join Real Madrid.

And we are being told that Rice is the next name on the City manager’s list although he is unhappy with the fee of £120 million wanted by the Irons.

He is set however to make an opening bid of £70 million plus Kalvin Phillips who joined City for £40 million following a ammers bid of £50 million.

But with Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea all interested – as reported recently – the Wesy Ham board will have an auction on their hands with that providing the opportunity of getting very close to the £120 million the want.

Kalvin phillips looks like he will end up like Jack Wilshere, which is a shame, but his injury history should put off any part ex deal.

If Rice leaves I wish him well but under no circumstances should we accept cast offs from clubs other clubs.. City do not rate him, they made a mistake in signing him. Chelsea will also offer us players like Gallagher and Loftus Cheek. These players are not the players to move us forward. Fornals is a better player than either of them. Let’s do the straight deal and buy top level players who will make us better.
