Claret & Hugh West Ham Exclusive
Nuno is under NO immediate threat of the sack at West Ham by the board although it remains to be seen if that is the case in the event of a loss to Nottingham Forest.
Yesterdays 3-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers increased pressure on Espirito Santo. As a result, former Hammers Michael Carrick and Slaven Bilic were both linked with the West Ham managers job.
But speaking exclusively to Claret & Hugh last night, a top club source indicted Nuno is safe for now.
There is a feeling the team lacks energy and full backs. The board however are under no illusion after yesterdays loss saying “lets not kid ourselves we were very poor today”.
With such a short space of time before games, it would have been difficult for the club to dispense with the manger and appoint a new one before Tuesdays match.

WHY ? WHY? WHY?
I don’t think the team any longer lacks energy, it may have done yesterday but in general it’s been pretty good with Magassa, Potts, Fernandes, Bowen, Summerville etc
It lacks blistering pace on the flanks and up top and it lacks central defenders.
We need to take some risks going forward but without some pace at the back and proper defenders it’s really risky.
I am not sure what happened to El Karranoui but he is a player that can give width and supply to our forwards. As for central defence get Cresswell in immediately and Gabriel Thiago.
Wolves played well but they have zero pressure on them as they are as good as relegated, they have a better squad of players in their team than we do also.
We need a manager that can get the best out of the young players and get us some wins of all of them mentioned that are realistic targets O’Neill is a manager that given this team could get them organised but also give us a balance between attack and defence.
All we really need to do is try and score more points between now and the end of the season than Burnley and Forest, there are 4 bad teams at the bottom of the table and we need to finish 17th it was a terrible performance yesterday for some unknown reason but we have a very young team who have played a lot of football and these inconsistencies can and will happen, what we need to do is capitalise when they are inconsistently playing above their level and we need to play with the freedom Wolves did, am not sure f that is in Nuno’s skill set because he is by default organised and tbf given what he has that has helped us be harder to beat and as galling as it is we have been better than we would have been under Potter. Let’s hope he finds a formula, our big players show up and we can make some magic happen, COYI!!!
No wonder other teams get so upset at the thought of dropping points to West Ham , we really have become a joke of a club. I have supported this club for 60 years and I can honestly say it has never seemed so poinless even thinking about us being entertaining let alone scoring a winning goal.
Unless a drastic change in management and ownership occurs, this club will be relegated, possibly followed by another to Division 1. No joke 🙏🏻🤡.
Nuno’s hands are tied with an incomplete squad and incomplete coaching staff , however that doesn’t explain why most of the team were so lackluster against Wolves . I always knew that the result could have been a coin toss with good or bad luck deciding the match , but Westham were simply crushed by a team playing with vastly superior tactics . The Board will retain Nuno just so that they have a culprit to blame for the upcoming relegation . The 6 pointer against Forest if lost will confirm the relegation and so I hope that Westham at least show some pride and fight .
Are the board really buying the players wants and who we need . How can we blame Nuno anyway look at the board and players who should put in more effort
Carrick or Bilic would be another managerial disaster.
Let’s be honest after yesterday’s pathetic gutless performance we could sack the manager and let the players turn up on Tuesday and even then expect a better performance. Let’s not forget there are plenty of real hammers on the coaching staff that could manger as well as anybody we’ve had . Let’s have mark noble in the dressing room encouraging, Kevin keen and Steve potts allowed more input , even get Sir Trev to have a word but leave Brady and sullivan to tend their allotments.
Groundhog day!!
They’ll never learn
Pathetic clueless muppets
That is such a stupid incompetent position to take. Either you don’t think he’s good enough and replace him immediately in order that you have a chance of staying up or you think he’s the man to lead us to safely, back him and give him until the end of the season. We don’t have time to kick the can down the road. Act now
I can’t believe this bloke got past the interview stage! Wasting two games and losing 6 points not knowing that a left back plays on the left is amazing! To buy a new striker and make him watch from the bench is unforgivable – get rid now!!
Thing is Sean, if we sack Nuno who will come in ?
Bilic ? do me a favour – sacked by us and all and sundry including Watford and West Brom
and Carrick ? unable to get ‘Boro into the play offs after many attempts and sacked by one of the most respected owners, Steve Gibson.
Sullivan probably been on the blower to Russell Martin !
The limit of ambition from Sullivan and the rest of the parasitic board is finish fourth from bottom as there will always be three teams worse than us – got away with it on numerous occasions but not this time mate, we’re down. Please sell up before our great club becomes the next Sheffield Wednesday….
Apparently NES is heavily involved with recruitment and that must be incredibly time consuming taking NES away from coaching and improving team performances.
If NES is going it alone taking responsibility for absolutely everything, this might be an indirect reason why we saw such a terrible display against Brighton, because you cannot coach a struggling team, manage and look after recruitment.
It is not that Potts senior or Mark Robson can’t do it, but NES might want to do it all and not delegate, nor listen, or perhaps take time to listen. If keep NES, perhaps something needs to change in the managerial approach, given how team performances have actually worsened?
Lacking full backs? Come on wake up and smell the coffee! The 2 that played yesterday have done well in context of them being 2 choice full backs and both the first choice ones are on international duty. Can’t you see 3 things wrong. 1 attitude. This shows by how passive the whole team is when they loose the ball. 2 We haven’t a leader on the pitch, no shouting pointing or words in ears including the refs. Bowen is a good player not captain material.3 we are weak at centre back and forward line. No chasing the ball down by a team looking effort forward line makes passing out from the back easy. Kilman is poor in decisions he makes and this unsettles the rest of the back line. He should be the one shouting to get the defence out once we get the ball and shouting at the midfield cover in front of him. Until these things changes results wll be the same.
Here we go….. again.
So West Ham spend money buying nuno’s/sullys player purchases, then they get rid of nuno and whoever is stupid enough to take over has to use other managers past picks to try and save us from relegation? WTF! Wouldn’t it be better to sack him now, get someone in who might save us but realistically will need to get us promoted asap. No point buying new players for nuno, buy them for a new manager.
