West Ham United Unveil New Signing Joao Mario

West Ham has officially confirmed the signing of Portugal international Joao Mario on loan until the end of the season this afternoon.

WHUFC.com says the 25-year-old attacking midfielder, who arrives in east London from Italian Serie A club Inter Milan, is a talented and skilful player capable of creating and scoring goals.

Having received international clearance on Friday, he trained with his new teammates and has been named in David Moyes’ squad for Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie at Wigan Athletic. Capped 31 times, Joao Mario appeared in all seven matches as Portugal won UEFA Euro 2016, and the Porto-born star cannot wait to show his worth in a Claret and Blue shirt.

“I am really happy to be here,” said the new No18. “It’s a really amazing experience to join this amazing team and I am just glad to be here.

“It was a fast move. I have spoken with everyone around the team and, for me, it is exciting to play in the Premier League. I spoke with the coach and for me, I am really happy to be training for an amazing coach, also.”

The new Hammer revealed that Portugal teammate Jose Fonte had phoned and texted him on more than one occasion, encouraging him to swap Milan for London. “Jose explained to me a little more about the Club and also the song we have, I’m Forever Blowing Bubbles and that, of course, it was really important for me to join West Ham! It’s a really historic Club with an amazing stadium and amazing players. I am just trying to know a little bit more about the Club every day and now I have some time to know more.”

Now buy Dendoncker and show a real statement of intent. The downside of this deal is if he plays out of his skin for the rest of the season Inter will hope for a bidding war and our owners will not stump up the necessary wedge to buy him outright. The next step is £30 mill plus players if we want to compete in the prem.

Dendoncker who really wants to leave and don’t forget a striker. Carrol out, Ayew out, Sakho out, Chicharito with ants in his pants, who is left ? Martinez… Not enough.

      • Dunlopilo says:

Oh, and we don’t know if there is a clause in the agreement with a set price for full transfer at the end of the loan period. If there is one we do not need to worry about any bidding war, as long as we have a “first choice” clause in our favour.

    A statement in a tent more likely 64 😜
The window is still open ! Just !!! 😂

No option for permanent? Its hard to spend some money. Typical dildo brother tho 😂

Well if they think one player is going to compensate for lanzini and Arnie and hope Antonio comes good then its another failure to spot the problem 18 months ago? Too little too late maybe! Window not finished but were all expecting a farcical end to it ? You know ! The norm.
    A striker , + d/m and a c/MF still needed ! But !!🎵🎵 He is reviewing !🎵🎵 The situation ? 😂

Sounds about right Laz. Either more deadline day loans with bang average unknowns arriving, or Moyes doing the right thing and telling the dildos he won’t stand for that any longer – Meaning the only arrival will be Jack Shyte because they’re too tight to invest and too stupid to successfully conclude a meaningful transfer.
Can see a front line of Ayew and Chek – Ffs that will terrorise which defence exactly! Best stop now or Super Mario will be searching for that stand-by return ticket to Milan!

Welcome to West Ham Joao Mario, look forward to seeing you play and I hope you bring a bit of skill and excitement with you COYI! hopefully he’ll get some game time against Wigan.

Should be a good signing and fits into the Moyes mound but with a little bit of something special. Need a few more but happy with his quality. Never expect him to make up for more than one player but they haven’t left and will be back.
