Jeremie Frimpong, although born in the Netherlands, has strong Ghanaian roots from his mothers side. At the age of seven, his family moved to England, where he spent the majority of his formative years. He began his football journey in the Manchester City youth academy at a young age and quickly progressed through the ranks.

Early Career:
Frimpong’s talent shone brightly during his time in the Manchester City youth setup, where he made over 60 appearances across various age groups, showcasing his potential as a dynamic right-back.

Professional Breakthrough:
In the summer of 2019, Frimpong made a significant move to Celtic, where he made an immediate impact. Throughout his debut season in senior football, he made 24 appearances, contributing four goals and five assists as Celtic secured a Scottish Premiership Cup and League Cup treble. His impressive performances continued into the following season, where he added six goals in 30 outings before making a move to Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayer Leverkusen Career:

Upon joining Bayer Leverkusen, Frimpong seamlessly integrated into the squad, making 10 Bundesliga appearances in the second half of the 2020/21 season. He solidified his position as the team’s right-back in the subsequent season, making 26 appearances and contributing with one goal and six assists before an unfortunate ligament injury halted his campaign in mid-March. Despite the setback, his performances earned him a call-up to the senior Netherlands squad for the 2022 World Cup.

International Career:
Frimpong’s international journey began with the Netherlands U21 team, where he earned six caps. Despite missing out on playing time in the 2022 World Cup, his impressive form in club football has undoubtedly caught the attention of national team selectors.

Recent Form:
After recovering from his injury, Frimpong returned to action with a bang, showcasing his attacking prowess with three goals in just four outings, contributing significantly to his team’s winning streak.
