Upon joining Bayer Leverkusen, Frimpong seamlessly integrated into the squad, making 10 Bundesliga appearances in the second half of the 2020/21 season. He solidified his position as the team’s right-back in the subsequent season, making 26 appearances and contributing with one goal and six assists before an unfortunate ligament injury halted his campaign in mid-March. Despite the setback, his performances earned him a call-up to the senior Netherlands squad for the 2022 World Cup.

International Career:
Frimpong’s international journey began with the Netherlands U21 team, where he earned six caps. Despite missing out on playing time in the 2022 World Cup, his impressive form in club football has undoubtedly caught the attention of national team selectors.
