Tottenham’s injury problems have taken another turn — and it could have a knock-on effect in the relegation scrap involving West Ham.

Following earlier reports of Leeds United’s injury issues, Spurs now find themselves dealing with a setback of their own at a crucial stage of the season.

Kudus blow dents Spurs hopes

Tottenham, who are battling with West Ham, Nottingham Forest and Leeds to avoid the final relegation place, have already seen their season disrupted by injuries.

The recent appointment of Roberto De Zerbi, combined with the potential return of former West Ham winger Mohammed Kudus, had been viewed as a possible turning point.

However, it has now emerged that the Ghanaian is expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Move to north London yet to deliver

It has been an underwhelming spell since Kudus left the London Stadium for £55 million in the summer.

While he showed flashes early on, his time at Spurs has never fully got going, and questions remain over his long-term future, with Atletico Madrid reportedly interested.

How much Tottenham would have relied on Kudus during the run-in is open to debate.

He has offered little so far, so any expectation that he would return and drive them to safety may have been optimistic.

One less concern for West Ham

From a West Ham perspective, there is at least a small positive.

There will be no risk of our former player returning to haunt the Hammers by firing a rival club to safety at a crucial moment.

Hammers Chat my first game was West Ham 10-0 Bury . . . seriously!
We than went and bought Bury's central defender 😬⚒️ Irons

I started Hammers Chat alongside my partner in crime Geo back in 2014 and brough in to Claret & Hugh by my old mate Hughie to produce videos a couple of years later.

I give West Ham opinions and interviews on Sky Sports News and even did a bit of moonlighting on BBC Football Focus. Former video and content creator for West Ham United back in the days of Upton Park. I was lucky enough to feature in the documentary broadcast on that final wonderful game at the Boleyn when Winston Reid broke Manchester United hearts.

I frequently feature on BBC Radio 5 Live and once ate a biscuit in Tony Gales shed.

Connoisseur of salted caramel doughnuts and I love a Sloppy Giuseppe pizza although I'm slightly suspicious where the name came from.

When I'm not moaning about West Ham I can be found walking a dog that looks like a sheep and tinkering with pinball machines.
