Oxford to break Hammers 93 year old record

|

OxfordYoung Hammer Reece Oxford will enter the West Ham record books as the youngest ever first team player at 16 years and 198 days when he takes to the field tomorrow in the Europa League first leg tie.

Oxford will beat the previously record set 93 years ago when Billy Williams debuted against Blackpool on 6th May 1922.

Oxford signed his first professional contract earlier this season, snubbing interest from many of the Premier League’s big names.

The central defender has been likened to Rio Ferdinand and has been tipped to be a future England international.

Looking forward to the match tomorrow and grateful they are streaming it, didn’t want to miss the first game of the new tenure.

I am so delighted for him, he has incredible potential and I just hope we slowly but surely introduce him to the premier league. I am optimistic we have a manager who will trust in youth from time to time. Some other great news just saw we are in negotiations for the Peru right back, he looked class at the Copa America. Head and shoulders above Jenks so really hope this one has some substance behind it.

I watched the Dev squad twice last season, he’s got massive potential but he is still only a kid, I’m sure they’ll introduce him gradually in games like this.
    One for the future.

Lol,well done Johnham, you didnt disappoint, managed to get Jenks into your comment.I am looking forward to the day we announce Jenks if he comes back.Just dont jump off the nearest bridge 😀

I’m delighted for the young lad belatedly getting a debut he should’ve got months ago glad to see the Curtis contract is no longer a ticket to first team.
As for the RB link I’m with Johnham but for different reasons I like Jenks but don’t agree with the deal

Looking forward to seeing a bit of Reece this year in europe. Can only do his football education good to gain from this experience 😉

  • bubs says:

With you Quick why line the Goners pockets
We need one good full back and maybe a Corluka to cover him and at centre back and he will only cost the same as Jenkinson for one year,

Yep I just can’t get my head round the logic or the maths involved. If he comes I’ll cheer him on cos I liked him playing it’s the business of it I don’t get

  • bubs says:

    I don’t understand him
Just because you are a gooner fan has nothing to do with your career,
If I was him I would be banging on Wengers door demanding a move not loan,
If he comes to us and we sign another boy like the one from Peru he will be bench warming
But if he joins us he will be first choice until he blows it his self

    • Lt. Quickdrawovic 1st Slavalry C&H Regt says:

You’re right if he wants to progress he needs to knock on Wengers door,if all players only stuck with the team they supported the lower leagues would have the equivalent of pub teams lol

  • Radai Lama says:

Jenks wont ask for a fulltime move will he,he still has a desire to be a Gooner player.Him & Wenger had a meeting at the end of last season & wenger told him he was in his plans still. All the time Jenks thinks he has a chance there he wont leave. He is only 22 or 23,he aint going to bin the gooners yet 😉

    • Lt. Quickdrawovic 1st Slavalry C&H Regt says:

Sorry to say it Radai but if that’s the case we should let him carry on being one
