Palace burned our carpet

|

Crystal Palace away fans threw a red smoke bomb after scoring a penalty at the London Stadium after a Declan Rice handball.

The smoke bomb narrowly missed a TV cameraman sitting behind the goal and landed on the London Stadium Claret carpet at the feet of a steward where it burned until stadium safety staff rushed in to put it out with a bucket of sand.

A second smoke bomb was let off in the away upper tier of the away fans.

Being in possession of a pyrotechnic device at a football match, or attempting to bring a pyrotechnic device into a football stadium, is a criminal offence under the Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc) Act 1985. Any person committing such an offence faces arrest and can expect the Court to make a three-year football Banning Order.

London Stadium staff and Met police will review high definition CCTV footage of the Sir Trevor Brooking lower stand from where the bomb was thrown to identify the individual Palace fan who will then be arrested and charged as well as being banned by both clubs.

To all those Palace fans out there I have no qualms about the result, Yes it was a penalty by the laws of the game but do something about that disgusting and recalcitrant idiot Zaha and his spitting antics!

    • Jimmyjoojar says:

You mean his spitting which nobody except this website commented on? The article that only managed to record half of the screen? Please just do something about your deluded fans.

  • Colin Gray says:

Well, to everyone who complains that the crowd is too far from the pitch the Palarce fan who allegedly threw that flare should have been in Doha, not the LS!

  • Dave says:

I’m looking forward to the follow up story on the WH fans who threw objects at Ayew after he scored. Completely agree that the smoke bomb was stupid from a couple of idiots in the crowd which I hope get action against them. I’m assuming you’re unhappy with the behaviour rather than the result and celebrating fanbase? If so a balanced journalist should be covering both stories and not just venting their frustrations because they have a website

I’m not condoning it but palace fans have been doing this for years all over the country. As for wilf spitting, no mention in the press so can’t have happened. The press love giving us a hammering, no pun intened.
