Palace skipper misses Irons clash

|
alan-pardew_2442206bCrystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has confirmed that Scott Dann will miss tomorow’s clash with the Irons.
The central defender has failed to recover from a hamstring injury which has seen him miss the last two Premier League outings.
Hopes were high that the Palace skipper would make the game after missing the matches against Sunderland and Everton but Pardew has confirmed the game against us has come too early for him.
He said: “Scott Dann won’t make this game. ย Other than that we’re okay.”

You really do read some blinders on blogs.Just read that the reason for Nobles poor form is because we sold his best mate according to a visionary on Whtid pmsl. What goes through peoples heads LOL…

  • Alfie says:

Yeah back on to the Dann part of the article it is defo good news he is out.I think he is a top defender.Under-rated for me.I would love him in our team!
ยฃ10 million was a good price for Tomkins in my book.

In honesty most of the fans on this site realise it was good business to sell Tompkins, we certainly could have done with him at right back with all the injuries but he was never going to be a first choice CB and fair play to him he left us for first team football so good luck to him, we got a great fee, he gets first team football everyone’s happy aren’t they ? As for Dann missing that is good news he is an imposing CB and a leader on the field, certainly we have more chance with crosses from wide and also through the middle (if we ever spot the passes) without him there, Delaney and Tonka are both susceptible once you get them turned around to giving away stupid fouls or hopefully a penalty and a sending off ๐Ÿ™‚ COYI !!!

  • Alfie says:

Whats with all the dumb ****** who still rattle on about us being stupid to get rid of him.How many times do they have to read that he wanted first team football according to Bilic & even Noble now ffs!!
The man wanted first team football,he wasnt guaranteed it,why should he be, so he bailed out.He could have stayed, fought for a place,he didnt he did one off to CP
Do some fans only choose to read what suits them…

I’m noticing the same thing, since Tomkins left, he has turned in a super defender according to some experts, better than Maldini or Beckenbauer… maybe it would have been better Dimi instead of him… loool
Some people tend to look for a scapegoat, and always will. ๐Ÿ˜‰

It happens a lot if you are struggling in a certain position & a player from that position has been recently sold.
Reading some comments about him im not sure if they are on about Rio,Moore,Beckenbauer or Terry.
James has turned into beast of a player overnight Lol

  • Stevo says:

Tomkins was fine as a right back when playing teams that were going to have more possesion than us & have us on the back foot for long periods (Arsenal away last year) but for games against lesser teams when we needed more of an attacking fb/wing back he offered little.
Now personally i prefer a defender who can defend but it isnt the way these days they need to have some attacking threat as well.
He was a decent player but no more than that imho. His One or our own tag always endeared him to the fans more than his actual ability.

  • slaven a laugh says:

tomkins was great at right back last year but got replaced by antonio. no surprise he left us.

  • GW says:

Saint Tomkins though knocked when playing in Claret and Blue for having no pace and positional awareness has now exalted to new levels of defensive greatness to those intellectual masterminds who knocked him ๐Ÿ™‚ Hippocritical ****s lol

  • Eddie says:

You are right about Tonks & the view of him.I watched the Everton v Palace game,he was very steady but then the next day i read some of our fans making him sound like a defensive colossus.A defensive masterclass,Had lukaku in his pocket.
None of it true at all hehe

  • Radai Lama...Rises From The Ashes says:

Thats good news.I like Dann he is a good reliable, strong cb.I would rather have Tomkins in their defence than Dann.
Its strange but since Tomkins left he seems to have turned in to a world-beater amongst a section of our support.
Over the seasons we had defences just as dodgy with him in them at cb lol
Dont get me wrong i liked him as a player but he wasnt or isnt the defensive god a few are making him out to be since he left lol
