Paqueta injured his shoulder whilst playing for Brazil against Senegal

There was  concerning news for Hammers fans yesterday as Lucas Paqueta lasted just over the hour for Brazil before suffering a recurrence of his shoulder injury in the game against Senegal.

After scoring Paqueta was then substituted after signalling to the bench complaining about his shoulder.

Sadly, we all know how much trouble the South American has experienced with in that area.

Paqueta has suffered serious shoulder injuries with West Ham last season, sustaining one against Southampton away, and most recently during our home clash with Chelsea.

With Declan Rice widely expected to leave the London Stadium this summer, the Brazilian will have an even more important role to play next season.

Moyes needs him to be our talisman, as all of our play will no doubt be channelled through the 25-year-old.

Paqueta remaining fit will be vital for West Ham, so his injury whilst playing for Brazil will undoubtedly be a concern.

Let’s hope that it’s nothing too serious.

With six weeks or so remaining before the new season starts, so he has plenty of time to recover.
