No talks between Slav and Mourinho over Dimi

West Ham are not – and haven’t been – in negotiations with Manchester United over a Dimi Payet switch to Old Trafford in January.

Stories arose today that Jose Mourinho is determined to land the Frenchman and that the Irons could do business so long as Anthony Martial is thrown into any deal.

But the Hammers are aware they cannot live without Payet this season and have scotched the rumours to ClaretandHugh this evening although a summer move is not out of the question.

The Irons still look to Payet for creating the inspirational goal creating chances and know they can’t gamble on their survival chances by allowing the player to exit.

Payet himself believes he owes the Irons his loyalty and has not and will not be agitating for a move in the winter window although what happens in the summer is an entirely different matter.

A highly placed source told ClaretandHugh: “There have been no discussions. In reality there’s no way Payet will leave in the next transfer window. He’s still a key player that’s involved in nearly half our goals

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Does this mean Martial isn’t coming ? Why don’t we just take Martial and Rashford on loan and Schneiderlin if he is available a good replacement for SNoble in midfield. Supposedly Fellaini is also on his way we will be like the new Liverpool raiding Utd of all its talent COYI !!!!

  • Thiucgshaun says:

I’d bite their hands off for Martial and cash for Payet

  • Richie says:

I think it is something that needs to be re-evaluated again the summer. Fingers crossed we will be a premiership club but if Payet’s heart is not in it and he is another year older I would certainly consider cashing in when you think of the money he is on. He would release money that could be re-invested in what will be a very important transfer window as we learn from the last window mistakes.
