With nearly a quarter of the 2015/16 Premier League season gone, West Ham’s Dimtri Payet is the standout creative playmaker in the league.
The Frenchman, who already boasts four goals this season, leads on his better known peers in terms of chances created in the Premier League. Payet has already carved out two more goalscoring opportunities than his nearest challenger, Mesut Ozil, of Arsenal. Payet is also second on Opta’s ‘Big Chance Created’ chart – a category that denotes a situation where a player should reasonably be expected to score, usually in a one-on-one scenario or from very close range.
