Pellegrini is handed some advice

|

Being West Ham United we are just as likely to turn up at the Bridge next Monday night and win – it’s what we do!

And in this particular season it will come as no surprise given the extraordinarily mixed bag of performances and results the squad has been offering supporters.

Highs and lows really don’t come close in a campaign that has been littered with some seriously garbage performances and lifted by huge displays against the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Newcastle ( home and away), Chelsea, Liverpool and in defeat at Manchester City.

With little at stake between now and the end of the season apart from league position the Hammers now have the chance to show the sort of stability we have been yearning for as we go in search of some top results against big teams.

Former Hammers defender Tony Gale who is as frustrated as any of us in discussing the problem has some words of advice for the manager.

He said:  “They are so hit and miss.” When Liverpool came to the London Stadium, they were clearly the better team. And then they go and lose to Cardiff, struggle against Huddersfield and you think ‘Oh my goodness, what’s going on here?’

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Breakfast show on TalkSPORT he added: “They just can’t get any consistency to their game. I think they are a team sometimes that don’t give the opposition a lot of respect and they go toe-to-toe with them.

“I think it needs to be looked at by the manager by saying that ‘these players are not good enough to go toe-to-toe and we have to get some consistency in our team.”
