Manuel Pellegrini appeared played his cards very close to his chest when questioned about whether Yaya Toure could be heading for West Ham after reports that he was flying to London from Greece.
Reports have emerged that the former Manchester City midfielder is keen to have another crack at the Premier League.
With his contract at Olympiakos cancelled by mutual consent after five games in which he started only three, the 35 year old has his fingers crossed of grabbing a contract at the highest level again.
And with his former boss now in charge of the Irons some have put two and two together although many will be hoping that this particular piece of simple arithmetic does not add up on this occasion.
Pellegrini, was in no mood to give much away on Toure or any other possible transfer window targets when talking to the media today (Thurs).
He said: “I spoke with Yaya, yes, at the beginning of the season. I have always said he is a great player but I don’t know what happened with him in Greece.
“At this moment we are just thinking about the next game, I don’t want to talk until the end of December about which players we are going to need in the window. It is not a priority because we already have players in that position.
And he confirmed ClaretandHugh‘s report that there will be no decision on Samir Nasri until later adding: “Samir is still working with us, and it is the same answer with Yaya – we are just thinking about the games.
He (Nasri) is working with us and doing well, and we will decide at the correct moment.”
