Pellegrini sacked – club statement

He’s gone – escorted from the stadium by security guards we are told after the latest disaster.

And in an official statement on the site the club declares: “West Ham United can confirm that Manuel Pellegrini has left the Club with immediate effect.

Joint-Chairmen David Sullivan and David Gold, along with the Board and everyone at West Ham United, would like to place on record their thanks to Manuel for his service over the past 18 months.

Mr Sullivan said: “It is with great disappointment that we’ve had to make this decision. Manuel is a gentleman and it has been a real pleasure to work with someone of his calibre.

“However, it has become clear that that a change is required to get the Club back on track in line with our ambitions this season.

We felt it was necessary to act now in order to give the new manager as much time as possible to try and achieve that goal.”

  1. Finally, hope it’s not too late…
At least feeling slightly more positive now but 40pts looks a long way off…
Bounce effect… Bring on Eddie Howe and his dismal Bournemouth… LOL…
Phew…. can at sleep a little bit easier tonight after
    another dismal defeat
    COYI

  2. The inevitable. – at last. But, the damage has been done. Do we have what it takes to get out of this mess; & who are we going to get to replace him ? I am seriously worried !

  3. I would say the Cowley brothers but with some experience Scott Parker

  4. Well that’ the best christmas present this year, happy new year fellow hammers!

  5. Wonderful. Who,s next?

  6. Go get Hughton. He knows how to organize a team. At least we will show some passion. What happened to Lanzini under Pellegrini? Of all the squad, he has fallen the furthest. No energy, no effort, no impact on rhe game. He used to have drive and skill, and was always looking to attack defences. All gone, nothing left. That sums up the Pellegrini reign.

  7. Only a month late

  8. I really hope not, a total backwards step & if they like him so much they should have kept him on 18 months ago. Really debating as to wether to go again this season if the appoint him. Might just go to the local pub on a match day & watch sky sports news.

  9. So you got for what you wished for. Apparently Moyes is next up. My dad first watched the irons in 1916, I in the 53/54 season. What I have done to deserve an, apparently, incompetent list of greedy, owners only able to run various porn related businesses?
I am inclined to believe that Gold actually cares about our team. The other two are just whores. And this is what the whores know. After 34 years overseas I and my wife will come home next year, renew our season tickets, and watch whatever crap is served up to us.
Maybe, in years ahead my great grandson will get the team he deserves but I strongly doubt it.

  10. The chuckle brothers at there best again…selling two defensive midfielders who were replaced with one on the cheap & the only striker with goals in him purely to save his high wage…then blame anybody but theselves…

I think Pelligrini this evening set himself up to fail & I dont blame hime one bit…

  11. Yes !!!!! Puts on party hat ….moyes lined up next …Takes off party hat

  12. Please not Moyles again he went as the brand of football was so bad and not what the Hammers fans wanted to watch. Might as well get Harry Redknapp back until the end of the season and then see who is available. Need some quality as it’s been missing for too many seasons.

  13. What worries me now is that some of our prize assets will be sold of to protect the pockets of Gold and Sullivan and we will be left with the likes of Sanchez and Roberto! Call me a cynic but I think this has the potential to end up worse than when we were screwed over by that Icelandic .

  14. Goodbye-ee! Goodbye-ee!
Wipe the tear, baby dear, from your eye-ee.
Though it’s hard to part I know, (I know)
I’ll be tickled to death to go!
    Don’t cry-ee, don’t sigh-ee,
    There’s a silver lining in the sky-ee!
    Bonsoir old thing, cheerio, chin-chin,
    Nah-poo, toodle-oo, goodbye-ee!
