Pellegrini: ‘This wasn’t a turning point’

|

Manuel Pellegrini’s composure and refusal to over-react is becoming one of the most important aspects of the man’s personality at this time.

With the nature of the results so far extreme responses to good and bad results is the last thing either the players or fans require.

So to hear him discussing the Brighton game three days after a result we’d sooner forget is encouraging.

Reacting as the the fall-out calmed down he declared: “Before Friday’s game I said that it wasn’t a turning point when we beat Manchester United, [and neither is this].

“Every game in the Premier League is different, every game is difficult and we wanted to add points at Brighton.

“We couldn’t, but we must continue working in the same way, because the way we played in the last 45 minutes was the correct way.”
