Pellegrini’s heavy Wilshere hint

|

Manuel Pellegrini has made it clear that Jack Wilshere and Robert Snodgrass will be involved in the Tuesday evening match against Newport County.

And assuming he has recovered from a sickness bug it seems likely that Chicharito will come into the reckoning for the clash with the League Two Welsh outfit.

Both Wilshere and Snodgrass were significant absentees from the squad at Watford with most believing the former Arsenal man’s ack of form was responsible for his exlusion.

But both he and Snoddy appear to be very much in the frame for the Carabao Cup clash with Chicharito also likely to be in the squad.

As we reported yesterday the little Mexican was suffering from a sickness bug but reports from inside the club this morning were that he’s likely to have recovered for Tuesday night.

Carlos Sanchez and Andriy Yarmolenko may sit the game out given Pelle’s suggestion that their long injury absences may make it difficult for them.

Referring to Wilshere he said: “He’s not injured. In this moment, Carlos Sanchez, Yarmolenko, Wilshere, players are coming off long injuries might not be able to play two games quickly. We have the cup on Tuesday, we need Jack 100 per cent fit and rested, same with Robert Snodgrass.”

Comment made yesterday by MP makes me beleave while he is manager we will never be a top side when asked about defendingsaid it’s not my style to play with eight defenders when you play top sides sometimes you have too

We’ll never become a top side under any manager unless we get significantly richer, so we may as well enjoy the ride.

Maybe Mike wants negative boring football back with Allardyce and doesnt like him know what the west ham way is and why were a massively supported club over the decades. Poke that one where the sun dont shine and I think pelle has won just a bit more and coached the best teams in the world to know what most hammers fans and will be around alot longer than Allardyce who has won and done nothing for the football world other than survival . Imo

As the previous poster Mike said we need to learn to defend or its going to be a long long season

  • Tony from Islington says:

To build a good team you always need to get the defence right first and playing Ogbonna isn’t
    the way to go.

We are missing quality players in defense , plus MP is not very tuned in as regards defending . It is not his style but also a little worrying tactically speaking . Against Brighton and again against Watford the midfield failed to get back to assist the back four . We got lucky against Brighton and the Watford result could easily have been very different if [ they ]
Had been more clinical . If we are to continue with the 4231 system then it’s obvious we need Balbuena in for Agbonna . We are massively missing the unfit Ried . We will need to be a little more defensively organized and oriontated against a very well organized Norwich side . But we are at Home and getting stronger with every home game. , so let’s be optimistic .
