Pellegrini’s vote of confidence in Arnie

|

Marko Arnautovic has had the sort of season he would probably sooner forget.

He has made mistakes, errors of judgement and shown awful timing in off the field matters which has clearly affected his performances on it.

To fall from total hero to abject sero in a few weeks is quite an achievement – if you will forgive me for putting it that way – although maybe it’s more normal at West Ham where fans refused to be messed with when it comes to player loyalty.

Whatever he may have done formerly finds little forgiveness with us lot when you clearly demonstrate that you are no longer interested.

However, after the last couple of games or so where his attitude has been spot on things are changing to the point where he has received a big vote of confidence from the boss.

And given that in the past he has made it clear that the striker’s Chinese activities disrupted a season it’s more than worth listening.

If he can see things in a different light, the time may have come to look forward and hold some real hope for the player’s future at the club.

Speaking after yesterday’s match the boss told his post match press conference: “Next season, I am sure we are going to see the Marko Arnautovic who knows how much he can give to this club.

“Today, he played very well, not just with the two goals that he scored but also with the way he was involved in the game. He was absolutely concentrated.

“We hope we can have a complete season from Marko Arnautovic in the way he played today.”

I’m not 100% convinced about where he will be and where his attitude will also end up.
He and his brother will not change.
I’m not sure there were that many supporters who thought he was the hero CnH say he was.
We can’t blame one player for our inconsistent season as we can not blame our injuries too.
There should of been enough quality in the manager and rest of the squad to finish higher or get to the cup final . City’s route has been unquestionably easy as ours should of been .
I still feel the season has been a bit of a let down overall.
Let’s hope Pellegrini and his staff bring in the right players . Probably as important they sell the underperforming players and no more totally inadequate performances.
We can’t win all our games but the attitude in some loses has been embarrassing.
Here’s to a positive summer and great start to next season .
