PlayerWatch bad bad news for Carroll!

|

Andy Carroll comes under the  PlayerWatch spotlight tonight as he is given a chance by Pellegrini  to prove his worth. That didn’t go so well then! CandH’s Danny Leach reports!

20 – Receives the ball in attack, turns away from his man but he plays a stray ball across the pitch which goes to the Dons left back

34 – GOAL – 1-0 – He slips as the ball comes up field and as Wimbledon break in attack he gets up very slowly and does not track back at all

45 – He is taken off at half time as Pellegrini makes a triple substitution with Perez, Anderson and Fredericks coming on

Verdict – 3He hustled the back line a bit whilst he was on but what else did he do? There was no was no real service to him of any sort and the whole team was very poor in the first half. But  his lack quality was unacceptable given he was handed a chance by Pellegrini to see if he could merit a new contract. No shots and very clumsy, a day not to forget just for him but for the whole club.

We should have sold Carrol this month instead of letting him go for free at the end of the session, let’s face it £20 is better than nothing I’m sure he will do well at a club like Southend, Dagenham & Redbridge. Then I see him play tonight now I’m not so sure but could bolster there shirt sales and act as a manikin or even a mascot role will get him through 😂

Listen Carroll is useless but the entire team we’re shocking to be honest. The players had a poor attitude, lack of effort , no intensity thinking they can win cos it’s only Wimbledon . They should be ashamed of themselves , you would think watching the game that Wimbledon were the premier league team. So those players need to look in the mirror and question their own attitude and lack of effort. Not good enough at all.

No service to Carroll whatsoever. Perhaps they are right Carroll doesn’t suit the system. Or the system doesn’t suit him. Playing a physical team like Wimbledon with a five man midfield I would have expected balls to AC to hold up the play and crosses in from wide but we didn’t play to his strengths and gave Wimbledon nothing to worry about. We tried once again to tippy two or dribble it through the middle. We had a poor defensive display, in particular from Obiang, Ogbonna, Masuaku and Adrian who between them managed to lose us the game.

You’ve not mentioned his knock down for Chica?

    ‘didnt play to his strengths’

His strength is getting injured and moving very slowly. No thanks.

I still can’t believe how his 5 year + 2 year option was agreed. Must have been backhanders involved as Allardyce and Carroll had the same agent, Mark Curtis. He’s cost us around £50m and has featured in less than 50% of the games. I’m fed up with people saying ‘on his day he’s unplayable’…….he needs to have his wages halved and put on a play and pay contract. The man is a joke.
