How we rated the Irons at AFC Wimbledon

|

Sean takes his first pop at the ratings as a special treat on a ‘special night’ and wishes to remind us that these are based on our performance against a bottom of the table LEAGUE ONE side for crying out loud

Adrian: Not even close to Fabianski! 3

Antonio  Better after he was released from his right back duties 4

Ogbonna Appalling display 2

Diop  Not one of his finest games 4

Masuaku Not a left back, not anything much actually! 2

Snodgrass  (Tried very very hard as ever and ran his legs off 5

Obiang:  His days at West Ham must be numbered- awful 1

Carroll: Counting the days to the end of his contract when hopefully he is gone 1

Noble  The skipper was not at the awful level of most of the others but could not save us 4

Diangana  This game didn’t allow him to shine – off the pace 3

Chicharito 1 (Apart from a deflected shot which hit the post, did nothing 1

Subs:

Perez:  Scored a decent goal, could have had another 5

Fredericks: Got forward well and looked fit and strong 4

Anderson: Great goal and the only player to live up to reputation 6

Would have given Noble a lower score 1 or 2 other than that complete agreement. Make Rice captain now and let’s never see another shameful lack of intensity like that again. Well done Wimbledon though !

Do me a favour. We’ve lost one game. Albeit an awful display. Rice is 20 years of age and learning. The real questions tonight are, pellegrini what are you doing? Play your best 11 and we go through. Pellegrini, didn’t get off the bench once. However he does in the premier league. Where was arnautovic? Yet he’s now fine for Tuesday, it’s not Nobes fault. The movement was shocking, we had no striker really on the pitch. Sean is right, he wasn’t as worse as some.

Think you were generous with Matsuaku.

  • Lump_hammer says:

Think we need to be looking at getting Bertrand and Clyne in for next season. Masuaku can’t defend and should never be played at full back again. Fredericks had the physical attributes but isn’t ready to take over from Zaba. The defence looks shocking without Balbuena

A really embarrassing performance indeed – in some ways it reminded me of teh recent defeat to Burnley and now the word will go out that West Ham dont like it when you stick it in their faces. Rice was a hige miss – playing such a high line we need his emergency defending – when Obiang gave the ball away on the half way line for the second goal there was no defender in sight

I actually thought that Antonio showed a lot of determinatioon and desire in the second half together with Snoddy. I cant remember Chicarito making a single useful contribution – while Perez did little apart from his goal. I am also still to be convinced by Diangana who seems a bit lightweight – in the long run I think that Xande SIlva might turn out to be a much better player

Potentially this might be the end of our season which could fizzle out like in BFS last season – a few scrappy results will see us safe from relegation but dreams of 7th place will “fade and die”

Now is where we see what Pelle is actually made of and if new contract Arnie can deliver something

One look at the ratings shows the usual culprits for what they are a waste of space. We need a squad, so Masuaku, Obiang, Ogbonna, and now Carroll must go in the summer, or all our good work gets undone whenever we try to rotate.

  • kcockayne says:

And 90%of us (including me) thought that we were going to win – shows what we know ! What is so difficult to take is how we keep on getting these sort of performances & results against these lesser teams. And we “are a big club” ! Do me a favour – we are NOT a big club – not with performances such as these !

  • Hammerintheblood says:

Oh lets not forget mr Noble ……certainly a captains display ….how on earth are these guys getting paid 50 bags per wk and more …..get rid of these slackers …why wait till seaon is over …..smfdh ….if rebuilding our squad start now ….agree wholeheartedly that weve had horrendous injury crisis this season …But pelle needs to get shot of at least 6/7 players …3 forwards for a start and then mr Noble and then take your pick…i for 1 am not blaming Pelle , nope those players selected should have rolled them easily …

  • bubbles says:

Truely appalling . Back to the bad old days . It must be possible to give a player zero . What exactly did Masuako , Ogbona , Hernandez , Adrian do to earn a point and Noble only got one cos he is loyal local boy . Thinking about it…why not minus marks for a display like that ?

  • Carrerageorge says:

Don’t agree with the Adrian score, not sure Fabs would have done better when left so exposed. The first was a flukey deflection and for the others there was little hope for our keeper, though maybe the cross that led to the 4th could have been tipped away by Adrian.
