PlayerWatch: Carlos Sanchez gets the treatment

|

Daniel Danielli Leach decided to take a close up look at Carlos Sanchez for today’s PlayerWatch piece – SORRY CARLOS!

14 – Plays a good ball out wide to Fredericks

38 – He is outpaced by Jota on the left hand side allowing him to put in a cross unchallenged

39 – Plays a great one touch ball to Cresswell after a poor control by Arnautovic

49 – Plays a very clever chipped ball to Cresswell under pressure

52 – Puts in a weak tackle on Costa who goes past him and crosses the ball

53 – Makes a great dummy with a fake pass to confuse Jimenez before making a great pass forward to Wilshere

54 – Plays a neat one two with Anderson before playing it forward to Yarmolenko

68 – Makes a good double clearance in a defensive position

88 – Tackles Rúben Vinagre but he does not catch the ball and Vinagre is free to go forward

90+3 – GOAL – 0-1 – Neves capitalises on a poor first touch sending Traore through on goal who scores

Verdict – 5 – It would be very easy to heavily criticise Sanchez given the grave nature of the mistake made. While deserved, it should not hide that throughout the game he doing his duty. He always linked up very well with the defence and wingers making many passes and making us tick. However even apart from the goal he sometimes looked a bit sluggish defensively

Its easy to pick on individuals when we look so far off being a cohesive team.Hard to see where the great transformation is going to come from.Confidence must be shot to pieces already and those players that were here last season look haunted again .On a positive we are still creating chances but are missing an alarming amount of decent chances.Danny Ings would have been a good aquisition to help Arnie who looks like the only one who knows where the goal is again.£100 mill does not get you much judging by the performances so far.We need a huge performance from somebody at Everton in 2 weeks time to kick start the corpse.

It is easy to pick on individuals, just like some have picked on mark noble unfairly after two games. I don’t think Sanchez had a good game at all, and to me is no better than mark. I though obiang did ok when on, but for me noble can come back in in the right midfield system, and rice can take balbuena s place at the back. Wilshere has really struggled to fit into the team, and I don’t know what pellegrini is quite doing with him, and what he wants certain players to do. The pressure will come onto pellegrini if no results in next few games, and he doesn’t seem the type to rant and rave at the side.lets wait and see

Apart from the mistake he was one of our best players. He never hid like many and wanted the ball. In the Premiership the slightest mistake costs our club where the opposition generally gets away with it. Cursed club.

Will get crucified for the awful mistake but overall he is head and shoulders better than the alternatives . Blame the club for failing to fill a gaping hole that has been there for 3 years and gets bigger week on week . Diop looks as though he could become a very important player for us in the next few years

sanchez was actually pretty decent apart from his awful mistake.

should really ask why that mistake occurred, who decided to pass that into him knowing he was under pressure, and why that ball couldn’t be put further forward in the last couple minutes (as it turns out, its because out attacking players had been dog poo all day nd couldn’t be trusted to get to and with the ball).
