Poll: Would you pay £6m for this striker?

|

defoeReports in the media this morning suggest that West Ham want to bring Jermain Defoe back and are plotting a £6million bid for the Sunderland striker

But 34 years of age the big question is whether he would be worth the £6m valuation from Sunderland. The former Hammer has scored eight vital goals for the Black Cats already this season. According to a report in the Sun newspaper, Bilic hopes Defoe will be tempted back for one last stint at his former club.

Defoe previously left the Hammers under a cloud after handing in a transfer request 24 hours after West Ham were relegated later joining London rivals Spurs. He later claimed he was badly advised and regretted his decision but still loved West Ham.

All day long I would. We paid £5 million for Zaza and where did that get us? Forget about the past whether it was a greedy agent or naivety on Defoe’s part, £6 million is nothing for someone who would keep you in the Premier League. Sad fact is that we haven’t had any striker anywhere like him since. He knows where the net is.

Absolutely correct . We have wasted more on loan fees than we could / should sign him for . The same morons who keep shouting about Noble for England will be ones saying they don’t want him back .

If Sunderland let him go they would be throwing in the towel – Moyes couldn’t allow that, they would be pulling the carpet out from under him.

West Ham would have Defoe back in a heartbeat but can’t see it happening!
