Despite the summer transfer window being closed, West Ham have arranged a deal of one of their biggest rising stars, young midfielder Preston Fearon, to leave the club immediately on a short term loan deal.
Fearon, who impressed last summer when taking part in Graham Potter’s Florida Tour (main pic) has been a mainstay of the under 21’s and leaves the team ahead of Liverpool’s visit tomorrow night to join Forest Green, according to the BBC.co.uk:
“Forest Green Rovers have agreed a deal to sign 19-year-old midfielder Preston Fearon from West Ham United on a short-term loan deal.”

West Ham’s hugely talented Fearon is viewed as a rising star within the academy but has not yet had an opportunity to play senior football so this is something of a step up for the teenager. As the BBC confirmed, Forest Green manager Robbie Savage confirmed:
We needed a player in and, luckily for us, Preston Fearon from West Ham has chosen us..
“He had an opportunity with other clubs, but again it just goes to show what we can do here with young players. He’ll be great for us over the next one to three months.
“He’ll bring energy, he’ll bring creativity, he’ll bring skill, he’ll bring work ethic. For him, it’s his first senior football in terms of loans.”
And he’ll certainly come back a more complete player – perhaps ready to emulate Manchester City loanee Divine Mukasa and have an impact in West Ham’s midfield as many who watch the u21’s regularly have been predicting for a couple of seasons now.
