Paul Merson has has joined various other pundits by declaring the Hammers v Man City game will be extremely tight but gives the edge to the visitors.
The former Arsenal player said in his Sportskeeda predictions per West Ham Zone he doesn’t see how the treble-winners can’t win at the moment although he does feel this clash “suits West Ham”.
He adds that With Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen are “showing their class” and thus the Hammers have a chance but Merson has gone for a 2-1 City win.

“That said, this game suits West Ham, as they have a lot of counter-attacking threat. As they showed against Chelsea, they have the ammunition to hurt you, with Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen showing their class in front of goal.
“This won’t be an easy game, but I fancy Manchester City to get all three points to continue their perfect start to the new campaign.
Ha ha, Hugh. Yesterday you said “Just a reminder Claret and Hugh is going for a 2-1 Hammers win.” I guess you’ve thought about it a bit more and simply changed your mind.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could actually beat City though! We shall just have to hope for the best and trust Moyes to come up with another master plan.
