West Ham United’s battle weary players can at last relax tomorrow evening when they attend the club’s annual dinner and awards at the Grosvenor House in London’s Mayfair.

And according to sources close to the club, at least one category – ‘Goal of the Season’ – has been settled with Ravel Morrison taking the award for his amazing strike against Spurs.

We were told: “That one is apparently settled and but for a late voting surge for something else it’s in the bag.”

However in what has been a seriously difficult season for the club, it’s a close run thing in the other categories apart from the Lifetime Achievement Award which is expected to go to Sir Trevor Brooking.

The other categories are:

Hammer of the Year

Young Hammer of the Year

Top Goalscorer

Best Team Performance

Best Individual Performance

Academy Player of the Year

Player’s Player of the Year

Save of the Year,

Signing of the Year
