Reece Oxford is this morning be reported as being sent to join Arsenal…but not until the summer.
According to the Mirror the Gooners are keen to reinforce at the back and that the Hammers under 23 captain remains a big target.
However, we have been told that there is no firm interest in the player despite regular scouting outings by various PL clubs.
We have never heard of Arsenal being among them and although the new report claims Everton hold an interest that has been regularly ruled out by our Hammers sources.
It would seem strange were Oxford to be high on the Gunners wanted list given that he would cost no more than £3-£4m although the Mirror claims the club only have limited funds!!
It seems more likely the player will be allowed out on a loan move and it will be interesting to see if Frank Lampard with his Hammers contacts, and now manager at Derby County, were to show any interest.
