Report: Hammers could swoop for big-money Arsenal flop

|

West Ham could swoop for Arsenal flop Nicolas Pepe this summer, according to a new report from Independent journalist Miguel Delaney.

The winger joined the club in a huge deal worth over £70m back in 2019.

He has somewhat struggled to make a real impact throughout his time at the Emirates and has scored 27 goals in 109 games, while also laying on 20 assists.

This season, he has only scored once in the Premier League, while registering one assist, and Delaney reports that Pepe is now being offered to a number of rival clubs.

He has written in his newsletter, via TBR Football, that the fee attached to Pepe’s signature is around £25m.

The update read: “There will be a shake-up at Arsenal beyond signings.

Nicolas Pepe is currently being offered around the Premier League, at a price of £25 million.

West Ham United are one of those who could consider an approach. Arsenal are also likely to promote up to three young players to the squad.”

It remains to be seen if Pepe would be able to usurp Jarrod Bowen at the London Stadium if he did end up at West Ham this summer, but his form this season suggests that he wouldn’t be able to.
