Report: Hammers get ready for talks

Oxford-604905West Ham will hold talks over a new deal with defenderReece Oxford when he returns from England Under-19 duty.

The Mirror claims the Irons are keen to tie 17-year-old, who has two years left to run on his contract, down on a long-term deal.

Manchester United scouts are understood to have watched him as he played 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over the Netherlands on Friday evening and they were believed to have been joined by spies from Manchester City and Spurs.

A Hammers insider told ClaretandHugh: “There’s no anxieties – he is tied down to a two year deal and we will look at this in due course.”

  1. Put him in the team as often as possible and watch him grow. Same applies to Burke and Samuelson. Sign them all to decent contracts.

  2. Absolutely TRB. They are the club’s future and not some expensive mercenary with no love for the claret & blue.
