The recent ‘he said, she said’ saga on whether Dimi told a journalist he staying 100% at West Ham is not the real story for me.
What is is that he was allegedly at Folkestone Motorway services on junction 11 of the M20 to buy and consume a Kentucky Fried Chicken meal.
When Payet joined us in 2015 with a weight of 77kg and a height of 1.75m he had a BMI of 25.1 which technically classes him as overweight by NHS standards. Payet is obviously a player with a build who needs to regularly train to keep his weight down.
In the modern day where Premier League footballers have strictly controlled diets and their fat content is measured by their clubs it seems bizarre that an athlete would choose to eat KFC.
Maybe his addiction with KFC started with the France squad who sponsors include the fast food company. He can be seen tucking into his favourite food above.
P.S before anyone flies off the handle with this article it supposed to tongue in cheek, Dimi can eat what he eats as long as he stays with the Hammers and continues to bang in the goals for us 😉

It was obvious from the start that the journo blatantly approached him posing as a west ham fan not as a proffessional. I can see Payet eould have just said yeah of course Im staying off the cuff because no player would say anything in front of a group of fans to disappoint them.

PS – Also, why would Payet buy a huge KFC bucket? All those drumsticks would not be for himself only – no way. I’m a greedy, stinking (ugly) pig, and even I don’t eat that much! Even if it was for his gorgeous missus it would be too much…but I strongly suspect she wouldn’t touch the stuff …

The fact that there were four pictures with KFC merchandise in different locations would indicate these were KFC publicity shots. On the weight issue, Bilic has said before that Dimi likes his fod and had to lose weight when he joined us. I guess he can have the odd blow-out bewteen seasons 🙂
