Report: Hammers joined in race for winger

|

West Ham are set to face a couple of rivals should they decide to move in on Bournemouth star winger Arnaut Danjuma.

Bournemouth are said to have set a whopping £35m asking price for their star winger  and the Sheffield Star are claiming this morning that United are keen.

If that’s the case they will join alleged candidates for his signature Southampton, ourselves  and Villarreal who are keen on the 24-year-old, who scored 17 Championship goals last season.

He joined the Cherries for £13.7 million from Club Brugges on a five year contract in 2019 and has been an outstanding member of the squad over last season.

After ten goal contributions in a month, Danjuma was awarded the Championship Player of the Month award for April 2021.

On 21 May 2021, Danjuma was awarded the Bournemouth Player of the Year award after receiving 40% of the supporters’ vote, narrowly beating Asmir Begovic who had 38% of the vote.

If we’re looking for a winger, Lookman did well at Fulham last season. Maybe see if we can get him in.

  • Lakesider says:

Walk away. £35m for a decent but far from spectacular player is insulting. Spend it on Watford’s Ismaila Sarr instead.

  • Nick the Hammer says:

Just a slight correction there Hugh, I think you’ll find Bournemouth were not promoted back to the Premier League, they missed out in the play offs.

  • DJHammer says:

Championship clubs play hardball when negotiating fees, however in reality they are skint.
Negotiating for a advantageous deal is all about timing, when you know that the seller has been backed into a corner, let’s be patient lads.
