David Moyes has a decision to make on Manu Lanzini this summer with Marseilles still reported as being interested in the midfielder.
The manager made it clear towards the end of the season that he was a fan of the player and had no intention of letting him leave the Hammers.
However, the £70k a week Argentinian is continually being linked with a cross channel move whereMarseilles manager Jorge Sampaoli is reportedly keen to sign him.
Moyes explained that he has no intention of letting the player leave in a presser towards the end of the season but with two years left on his deal and transfer cash required that now remains to be seen.
The latest interest is being reported by FootMercato following a campaign when Pablo Fornals was regularly used rather than Lanzini before Jesse Lingard added to the options.
When he did appear Lanzini impressed but was injured again against Everton and that represented the end of his season.
I think he’s a great player but he was hardly seen this season so unless Moyes plans to play him more I’d let him go and get first team football elsewhere and gain the transfer money
Do we hold an option to extend beyond the remaining contract?
As an aside, does the club ever insert a buy out clause?
If he wants to go sell him, he is one of the highest paid layers and is a substitute.
I would keep Manu if there’s no intention of signing additional midfield cover. He looked good in that deep lying role.
I would keep Manu as we have no naturally creative players apart from Benrahma. I think Lanzini can cover 2/3 positions and he was man of the match in probably our best performance of the season against Burnley.
