A fresh report from Calcio Mercato claims that West Ham are ready to battle it out this summer with Inter Milan for Atalanta’s Colombian striker Duvan Zapata.
The Colombian has a physicality similar to Romelu Lukaku scoring 21 goals, he has proved to be a clinical goal scorer.
Atalanta signed the Colombian from Sampdoria last summer with the two-year loan formula at €12 Million with another €12 Million for the outright purchase. Atalanta President Percassi allegedly turned down a €40 Million offer from West Ham in the January transfer window.
From the third of December last year to the 30th of January, the Colombian forward smashed an amazing 17 goals in 10 games, becoming one of Serie A’s best strikers. However, since the close of the transfer window, Zapata’s form has declined scoring just once in his last six games for Atalanta, whilst registering one assist too.
Time will tell whether this is another agent planted story to whip interest in Zapata or whether the Hammers will come back for him in the summer.

Looks lively. Reminds me a bit of Sahko, but hopefully without the big attitude! 🙂
By the way I read somewhere that Sakho after starting with a brace (as reported on C&H) then went off the boil and has been sent out on loan
So he really never fulfilled his potential
