Report: Hammers set for double swoop

|

West Ham are being linked with a move which would see Callum Wilson and his former Bournemouth team mate Ryan Fraser join the Hammers …according to the Sun anyway.

Fraser is an unlikely buy given that we have six wingers on the books in the shape of Jarrod Bowen, Felipe Anderson, Andriy Yarmolenko, Robert Snodgrass, Grady Diangana  and Nathan Holland.

Wilson – at £18 million – along with Eberecho Eze. at the same again, would be too rich for the Hammers blood unless they can get rid of one of their big money players.

Then there’s the matter of defenders – known to be the first David Moyes priority and again there’s no explanation of how they will raise the cash for those.

And the story seems to defy David Moyes stated aim of building a youthful and energetic squad with Callum Wilson hitting 29 years old in February.

It’s more likely the Hammers will stick with Antonio and Haller although manager Moyes is clearly in need of a back-up option up front.

You mentioned our total group of wingers twice and twice missed out Grady diangana.

Do you know something we dont ?

Seems like zero proof about this, we have too many wingers so no need of Fraser and Wilson would want big wages and is injury prone so probably unlikely.

Ha no worries , just thought I missed a bigtransfer out

I just don’t get this. How many wingers do we need? We need two young fast full backs that can bomb forward and defend. Oh and John Stones.

Like you say it’s extremely unlikely we’d be in for Wilson. In fact, I’d be really shocked if we got anyone who is well known in the door let alone a player like Wilson who is worth £18m and would want at least £80k or more in wages. He is terribly injury prone as well. Don’t get me wrong great player when he’s on form and would be a good signing if we could keep him fit, but I can’t see Moyes sanctioning a signing like this unless two or three big players were sold, and even then it’d be a massive gamble for said reasons. I do like the fact we are being mentioned with younger players this window. We need to look towards relatively “unknown” talent like (Tomas Soucek) or hard working unsung heroes players who tend to fly under the radar and aren’t coveted by the big teams, Moyes did well bringing in Bowen & Soucek those are the types of players we should be going for, cheap but hardworking championship level but the potential of PL in the future and bed them in for the next two or three seasons. That’s half our trouble always tend to buy the finished article who ends up more concerned about the money and doing step-overs.

Why bother reporting a made up article like this?

Other players who have performed as ‘wingers’ or right/left midfield: Masuaku, Lanzini and Fornals….

OK, so a couple of the ‘wingers’ may be on their way, but it’s not a position West Ham need to strengthen?

There’s also the possibility that Moyes moves to 3 Centre Backs in defence, as he has done in the past, and the frailties of the Full backs becomes less and their attacking tendencies encouraged…

In an ideal world some funds are found for a new CB …..

  • Saul says:

    Don’t need either of them
