Report: Hammers still chasing £60m January target

|

West Ham are continuing to chase Leeds winger Raphinha after launching a bid for the star in January, according to a new report.

90min claims that the Hammers are continuing to monitor the Brazilian, after seeing a £50m bid rejected at the turn of the year.

Barcelona appear to be at the front of the queue to sign Raphinha but they have a number of financial issues and may not be able to afford the winger unless they can sell players.

The 25-year-old has two years remaining on his contract and the report claims he has told Leeds he does not intend to sign a new deal.

Leeds are said to value Raphinha at £60m and the Hammers are said to be weighing up a potential swoop in the summer.

It remains to be seen if the Irons would sanction such a big bid for the player but the Irons do have an interest in Raphinha and could finance a deal if they wished to.

He scored 11 goals in 35 games in the Premier League this season as Leeds avoided relegation to the Championship on the final day, but he may wish to move to Barca instead of staying in England.
