Report: Hammers want £10m January deal

|

West Ham are hopeful of signing Jesse Lingard in January for a fee of £10m, according to a new report from The Daily Mirror’s print edition, via West Ham Zone.

The club have, of course, been heavily linked with a potential move for the Manchester United star, who has fallen way down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

He enjoyed an excellent loan spell at the club last season and the report claims that David Moyes is still keen to get him in this month.

There is said to be a hope that £10m will be enough to seal the deal, given that the England international’s contract is expiring at the end of the season.

In total, Lingard has made eight appearances in the Premier League this season but he has yet to start and has not played for the club in the league since the 3-2 win over Arsenal at the beginning of December.

There is also said to be interest from Newcastle, AC Milan, and Barcelona.

If a deal can be done this cheaply, it may well be a goer, but we know Moyes has other targets, namely at centre-back and up front.Moderate Rater
