Report: Irons run rule over famous star’s son

|

West Ham are eyeing a potential swoop for the son of Diego Simeone, Giovanni, according to a new report.

Corriere di Verona has made the claim on Wednesday, with the Hammers said to be monitoring his situation.

Simeone spent the season on loan at Hellas Verona from Cagliari but the former are obligated to make that deal permanent this summer.

They seem to want to, as well, with Simeone scoring 17 goals in the Italian top-flight as the club secured a ninth-placed finish.

The Hammers and Newcastle are both said to be keeping tabs on the ace, as there is a feeling that Hellas Verona may may be willing to sell him for a profit this summer.

La Liga clubs Villarreal and Sevilla are also reportedly interested.

Verona will be paying €10.5m to make his loan permanent, which equates to £8.9m, so it’s almost certain that the Italian club will want to make a healthy profit on that this summer.
