Report: Man Utd & Spurs want Hammers target

|

Manchester United and Spurs could come in for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez this summer in a blow to West Ham’s potential hopes of signing the Uruguay international.

The Hammers made a big bid to sign the forward in the January transfer window but saw it knocked back by the Portuguese club.

West Ham could make another attempt to sign Nunez this summer but it appears that there is also interest from the two Premier League rivals.

The Athletic reports that Spurs are eyeing a potential move for Nunez in the summer in case United try to sign Harry Kane to bolster their own strikeforce.

They are said to be contemplating a deal for the England captain which would cost in excess of £100m, and that would need Spurs in desperate need of a new striker.

United are also said to be eyeing Nunez as a potential back-up option for Kane.

Nunez has been in excellent form this season and has scored 26 goals in 33 games in all competitions this term.
