Report: Young Trott on his way

|

Hammers young stopper Nathan Trott is to be loaned out to Ligue 2 side Nancy for next season.

According to the Daily Mail, the six-time England youth international will spend the 2021/22 campaign in France with Nancy.

This seems to stand up the story that we are now in talks with PSG Alphonse Areola, and it ay well have decided young Trott’s future.

With only one first competitive first team appearance to his name and a loan spell at AFC Wimbledon behind him there has been much speculation about whether he has a serious future at the club.

The answer appears to be no if reports that he is now off abroad turn out to be true although it would be foolhardy to rule  out his Hammers life completely at this stage.

He is out of contract with the Irons next June and on signing in 2019 he made it clear Manuel Pellegrini was a big factor in his decision.

He said: “He (Pellegrini) has got a good relationship with the young players in the first team.”

“Me and him have spoken a number of times. He’s really encouraging. He tells you to be yourself and enjoy football, and just try not to think about it too much.”
