Shearer picks Hammer in TOTS

|

Alan Shearer has named Declan Rice in his Premier League Team of the Season.

The ex-Newcastle striker has named his XI after the campaign came to an end last weekend.

The Hammers, of course, were beaten by Brighton on the final weekend of the season, meaning they have secured a seventh-placed finish and qualification to the Europa Conference League.

The Irons also reached the semi-finals of the Europa League, losing to eventual winners Eintracht Frankfurt.

And, as a result, Shearer has seen fit to pick Rice in his midfield.

Every other player either comes from champions Manchester City, runners-up Liverpool, or fourth-placed Spurs, so Declan’s inclusion is no mean feat.

He is joined in midfield by City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Bernardo Silva.

In goal is Liverpool’s Alisson, while the defence is made up of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, of the Reds, and Ruben Dias and Joao Cancelo, of City.

Mo Salah and Sadio Mane are both on the wings, while Spurs’ Son Heung-Min is the striker.
