David Moyes and the lads will be hoping to get an additional boost on Sunday from the intense speculation surrounding Watford boss Marco Silva’s Vicarage Road situation
The Hornets have spent the week resisting moves from Everton to wrestle Silva into Goodison Park so far without success.
And it will be interesting to see whether the reported £10 million target for the Toffees boss comments on his position when the pre-West Ham presser is held later today.
Negotiations through intermediaries have continued since but when Everton tried to renew direct contact on Wednesday they were rebuffed.
Only Everton, or Silva himself can break the deadlock but the scenario will be causing uncertainty in the dressing room which can only benefit the Irons.
Its like anything it can go one of two ways, the players might up their intensity or they might lose a little, they have a lot of injuries, personally I hope he stays at Watford for the season but the team are affected by the speculation and we score a few, only time will tell, supposedly Everton have offered £8.5m to Watford to get him which is fairly unheard of, I am also not convinced yet he is the silver bullet some teams think he is, after a good start at Hull he wasn’t able to arrest their slide backwards when it happened, he might just be another Brendan Rodgers, i.e. an organised manager that plays a system and doesn’t adjust much beyond that, time will tell but it won’t look good from his side having two short stints at clubs.
Just remember for all this praise he’s getting you can’t get away from the fact that he took Hull down last year!
My point exactly MM he may be a one trick pony like Rodgers that struggles when they have to move beyond plan a.
