Skipper looks set to sit this game out

|

If Manuel Pellegrini is true to his usual form Mark Noble will be missing from the Hammers team against Brighton tomorrow with either Aaron Cresswell or Pablo Zabaleta inheriting the skipper’s armband.

There can be no argument that Noble was dreadful against Burnley and although the team generally were in awful form his display was genuinely as poor as it gets.

Noble’s inconsistency mirrors the team’s problems and it would be a big shock were the manager to stick by him for a game which takes on a new importance given the defeat at Turf Moor.

The boss has regularly taken the axe to poorly performing players as even Declan Rice will witness early in the season followed by Carlos Sanchez.

Ryan Fredericks was also hooked, Felipe Anderson was subbed and Grady Diangana found himself out of favour after a bight start.

Pedro Obiang looks a better option tomorrow night as we again bid to get the team moving and with the game coming far too soon for Samir Nasri.

Granted, Noble didn’t have his best game, but it was an awful performance all round. You seem to have something against him personally. Even when he has an objectively good game, you rate him 5 and say something derogatory – usually this feels pretty rehearsed (albeit poorly written). Whilst we’re on the subject of performance, your website is appalling; it’s riddled with ugly, crass, disruptive adverts and is always full of glaring typos.

Agree on the Noble issue; there certainly can be an argument about whether he was dreadfull and he did not stand out as particularly bad on a day when very few could take credit.

Too soon for Nasri?? He’s been sitting around for over a year wanting to get back into the game, how can he not be ready???
What do you think would happen if I turned up to a new job, taking my £70k a week, and said to the boss “Hold on, I’m not going to be ready yet…”

Nah he’s right about noble, nobody covered themselves in glory the other day but it’s hard to put into words how horrific noble was,it was a masterclass in car crash midfield play,he covered every aspect of awfulness in his time on the pitch,if you see the game you would know that,I just cannot comprehend how he stayed on the pitch as long as he did!!

Masterclass in car crash midfield? What are you talking about..he was no worse than anyone else..if you don’t agree I can only presume it might be personal. If you defend, and attack like we did Sunday what chance have the midfield got by the way…We win, lose, or draw as a team by the way as well..

Sorry Hugh looks like you can’t win about Noble. Last time Bubbles was on at you for being pro-Noble – know you are getting it for being anti-Noble

You have my sympathies – and I for one really appreciate the site

Don’t know why you singled out Noble.
Arnie,Perez,Ogbonna,Diop had just as bad games.
Arnie especially should not make the starting 11. He’s not fit at the moment and his attitude stinks . He’s playing like he’s at Stoke stil.
Perez should be no where near the team or bench.
I agree though that Noble needs to benched.

Noble is suspended for Brighton anyway. He didn’t have a good game against Burnley but nobody did. Noble gets it more I think because he is Captain and so in some way is held responsible for a bad team performance. The worst player against Burnley was Anderson yet in his previous game he was voted man of the match. Burnley are a horrible team who managed to dig out a result by stopping us from playing. That’s the Premier league for you. I’m expecting better things against Brighton.

    • Noble is not suspended. Yellow card rules changed this season.

      Yellow cards Rules

In the past, any yellow card picked up in the Premier League, EFL, FA Cup or Carabao Cup would be totted up together. When a player received five yellow cards they would miss the next match, in whichever competition that may be. Reaching 10 yellow cards would see the player miss the next two games. And 15 would bring a three-game ban.

However, from this season yellow cards will only count in the competition they are received. And this has led to the following changes.

      Premier League:
      – One-match ban if five yellow cards received before 19 Premier League fixtures (Dec. 26 round)
      – Further two-match ban if 10 yellow cards received before 32 fixtures (weekend of March 30)
      – Further three-match ban if 15 yellows received (no fixture limit)

Noble is a player who we bring on with 15 mins to go to close out a game. If things are right within the camp and every player is being treated equally then both he and Perez will not start on wed. The team I would start is Fab, Zaba, Diop, Ogbanna, Masa, Antonio, Rice, Obiang, Anderson, Arnie, Silva.

    • Hammersone says:

Rubbish Johnham1. He’s better than that..Everyone being treated equally, what are you talking about? Nobes was no worse than anyone else, I was there at Burnley. I ignore a few idiots on Facebook who might say different..for me obiang doesn’t have the same eff3ct on the players, and I don’t see him ever pulling any trees up. Nobes not what he was but still influential. For me the manager should have set up differently last weekend, and he was too blame as well.. We were too deep for a start and set up too open..That said everyone was poor.
