Bilic reveals that Cresswell will be back very soon.

Slaven Bilic has insisted that all the summer signings will come good and dismissed suggestions none of them have improved the squad this season.

Speaking to the official site he said:”“All the summer signings are good players and they will come good, at least that’s what we expect them to do.

“They came to improve our team and some of them have played really well in some games, but we have to help them also to settle into a new country and new environment as soon as possible.

“We chose those players and they are good players. We didn’t want to change the team a lot, but we lost some players and have players who are still with us but are not available like Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho and Andre Ayew – we have to be patient with them.
“Sakho is still injured and he could be back very, very soon. He is our player and I like him as a player and, depending on how we are doing of course, he could play. He has done the sprints and is working with the ball and hopefully he’s going to join us quite soon.“Aaron Cresswell is starting to train with us on Monday and then during the international break we might have Carroll start to train with us.”
Turning to results he added: “This is different pressure than last season, when we were fighting for Europe. We are not enjoying this pressure and it’s hard to cope with it. You have to get out of this situation because this pressure stops you from expressing yourself in the best-possible way.
This pressure is a confidence killer.“This is a negative pressure and positive pressure is different. This is the one which is hard to cope with, but that’s why we have to get a few points and wins to come out of that pressure and get that burden off our back.
It’s more or less the same squad, but we have lost some of the players from last year and we have replaced them, and some of them need time to click with the team and to adjust to a new country and new stadium and everything, so it’s not just one thing. If it was just one thing, we would have fixed it.”

Agree with you Slav, it might be a tougher season than anticipated but we are building, if Obiang is allowed to develop then he will be like a new signing and depending on your point of view it could be argued he has been here for a year and could become a regular, Masuaku has looked good other than a game, Feghouli looked very good before he got injured, Fernandes also looked good when he played as has Fletcher, all the players except Arbeloa and Tore are 25 or under it is natural that they will take a while to adapt and also they are potential stars, we will sort it out hopefully sooner rather than later COYI !!!

You are a voice of reason amongst the ‘FanExperts’ who have alrready written off all our summer signings 32.Good for you, dont let the b@stards grind you down 😀

      • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Cheers Rick, I always try to be optimistic, it’s what being a hammer is all about isn’t it 😉 ?

        • JB says:

You are right No32 we must always try to be optimistic. We should all be used to the ups & many downs of being an Irons supporter.I really struggle to see how the constant negative postings on some sites helps in anyway. Its as if some of our fans spring into life when we are struggling. They must have been mortified last season to have so little to moan about 🙂

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Hey Hugh and Sean what about a post to see how many points do you think we will get this season ? I looked at our fixtures and have come up with 45 – 50 although a case can easily be made for a lot less. Still early to judge of course but I think we may struggle unless we have a good run, fortunes presently hiding COYI !!!

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

P.S this me being less than optimistic but still looking forward to whatever the season brings hehe 😀

The jury should stay out on the summer signings for now. A lot of the players from last year performances are currently substandard, much to their own admission. How can we expect the new guys to come in and make a huge impact. Once performances pick up will we see some of the new guys real credentials. It’s easier to shine in a winning side

  • GW says:

The new signings need time but there’s no excuse for Noble who has been utter ****e 🙂

    • hammerjk says:

Don’t really get nobes role GW. He doesn’t have the power and strength to be a midfield enforcer, lacks the energy for a Kante type players and lacks creativity like a cazorla or a mata. He’s a great lad but is being left behind by the modern game. Obiang and Kouyate with Lanzini and payet for me. No place for nobes

      • Tone says:

Yeah & the best of it all is that some are calling for Kouyate to be be dropped while never once questioning Nobes place in the team.

        • hammerjk says:

Not an option Tone. Kouyate has all the attributes required and will find some form if he plays alongside Obiang. If either of those are not performing then Fernandes and Oxford as a dm should be ahead of Nobes

          • Tone says:

I agree totally buddy but i have read fans who want a piece of Kouyates ass & still seem to think Noble is a ‘must play’ choice.Im by no means against Nobes,i thought he was fantastic last season but if anyone is a shadow of themselves its him so far imho..

          • GW says:

Noble offers nothing other than a sideways pass, Nolan was rightly ripped to bits because he offered nothing when his legs had gone and Nobes is exactly the same but is defended to the hilt not because he’s in form but because he’s one of our own which frankly is a load of ********.

  • johnham1 says:

One has to be realistic now, no point in playing the likes of Tore, Zaza, Nordsvelt as they will get us relegated. We do not need to wait until we are relegated to see that they have no impact on games at this level. Yes from what I have seen I like the two full backs we have signed and they can certainly play a part in our season. Jury out on Fernandez, Feghouli, Calleri but I have seen some positive signs with these signings. I was against both Zaza and Ayew signings but I believe Ayew really has to prove me wrong now. Sakho and Oxford also have to play big parts this season – they are like two new signings.

  • Michael Miller says:

The most positive thing is that quite a few of them are for the future – Quinta, Martinez, Fernandes and Fletcher – of the rest Feghouli has looked alright in between bouts of lameness, Masuaku looked ok until the West Brom game where he had a shocker and then pulled up lame, Nordtveit looked ok in the early games but got progressively worse and then he too pulled up lame, Ayew pulled up lame in the first game he knows this League and was alright at Swansea BUT of the rest Calleri, Tore and Zaza have all looked hopeless – if things continue as before expect all three to arrive at Training with Doctor’s Letters!

It does make you worry about the judgement of whoevers doing the deals – none have improved the existing Squad (except maybe Ayew) and all that seems to have achieved is giving Bilic the headache of integrating them into the Squad and having to justify them to us sceptical punters!

  • baddowhammer says:

I still think he should have bought more players who have prem experience. Our team sheet reads like the united nations X1. COYI

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

Who was there though Baddow ? I would have liked us to sign Joe Allen but I think Bilic thought he was too similar to Lanzini or just didn’t fancy him ? Other than that most of the clubs were awash with cash and buying not selling, Idrissa Gueye would have been good in hindsight, I am glad we didn’t sign Benteke for me he just doesn’t do enough without the ball, he may be on a decent run at the minute but when he goes off the boil he is anonymous in games… Other than that none of the clubs were selling, Leicester offered £30m for Deeney and it was turned down, the numbers for prem players make it unaffordable then there are their salaries. We are an upper mid table team at our best who should be competing for Europa League positions, as such we have to buy the best potential players or those a little past their best, I am optimistic that the ones Slav brought in will when he hit our stride really improve us COYI !!!

      • Radai Lama...Rises From The Ashes says:

Im with you 32.Lets give them some time before sending them all to the stocks to be tomatoed lol.I think the only one most of my fellow Irons friends have totally given up is Tore.Ok Zaza aint too popular either but they are all accepting of the fact that some may need time to settle or get used to the Prem.Mind you like GW says below some have decieded they are all Mingers already lol 🙂

  • GW says:

At the end of the day whoever we signed would have been a Minger after 5 mins a waste of money or not as good as weetabix ankles or captain slow to some 🙂

    • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

      Lol GW

      • GW says:

32 we could sign Iniesta, Bale, Messi , Ronaldo, Griezman win 6-2 every week and there would be those moaning that weetabix ankles isn’t getting the right service 🙂

        • Radai Lama...Rises From The Ashes says:

Were doomed GW.Conference South here we come lol 😀

          • RickHammer says:

The Wetpants have been cooking on gas today. They will have run out of negative things to post soon & they will have start Rnd2 of the same stuff again tomorrow. One of the lemons is even comparing this season to Avram Grants tenure.Friggin hell, what??? 😉

        • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

          True 🙂

        • Michael Miller says:

But then of course we didn’t sign those guys!

  • slaven a laugh says:

I’m sure gokhan tore is a better player than he has shown so far. he is only a young lad. Early twenties. Slav is right. These players need more time. They came to play for West Ham and they certainly don’t deserve idiots giving them grief on the pitch and making it harder for them by using them as a scapegoat for our current woes.
